One of the reasons we love linen is its versatility. At this time of year you need household items that perform as well as looking beautiful, as you decorate your house and table for celebrations. You need napkins that enhance your Christmas lunch setting, but that you can also sling in the washing machine afterwards. You need cosy pyjamas for a lazy Boxing Day morning curled up with your new books. You need a snug wool blanket for keeping small feet warm in front of the Christmas TV special. So, here's our fabulous festive edit of all the linenwares you need to create a comfortable, welcoming and stunning seasonal home.

Linen for a Christmas table setting

christmas table linen

Your Christmas table doesn't have to be fancy, but it does need to feel special and inviting. We like to place seasonal greenery foraged from the garden or a walk down the centre of the table, then dot with candles. A white linen tablecloth makes the perfect understated backdrop, and linen napkins provide texture as well as being vital for mopping up spills and dabbing gravy-splashed chins. Choose festive-themed colours or opt for neutrals you can use all year round. You could use a linen runner down the centre to add layers of colour, or use placemats under the plates instead of a tablecloth. Remember, there's a lot to find space for  during Christmas lunch, so unless you have a huge table we advise keeping the decorations minimal, simple and natural. Let the food speak for itself.

Wool throw for getting warm together

Gathering your loved ones around you is one of the joys of this time of the year. Whether you're watching a festive film with the kids or flopping in front of a box set with your partner after a hectic day's preparations, a wool throw will bring you closer. Snuggle up with soft cashmere for the ultimate in luxurious lounging, or go for hardy yet kind-to-the-skin pure wool.

Linen pyjamas for a cosy holiday

Some families give pyjamas as gifts every year, which we think is a lovely tradition. And what better than a pair of soft, sustainably produced, elegant yet hard wearing linen pyjamas? Our range comes in different colours and patterns to suit every wardrobe. Each pair is not only super-comfy and relaxed, they are also cut to be flattering so you can lounge in style. Here's to breakfasts in bed and plenty of holiday lie-ins!

Linen bedding for your guest room

If you've got people staying over the holiday season, treat them to some sumptuous linen bedlinen. Not only does it look lovely, linen also helps regulate your body temperature and wicks away moisture, keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer so you get a really good night's sleep. A new set of bedlinen is also a great way to refresh your guest room without having to redecorate. You could also give them a set of soft, highly absorbent linen guest towels to create a truly indulgent welcome. Leave these in neat piles on their bed, place some fresh flowers on the nightstand, add a couple of page-turner books and a carafe of water and they'll feel like they are in a luxury hotel.

However you're celebrating, we wish you all a very merry Christmas season and a wonderful New Year.
