“14th of June, 2010, is a very important day in the history of LinenMe. It is the day when a showroom in Merchandise Mart, Chicago, was opened.” – says Inga Lukauskiene, the owner and chief designer of LinenMe. “Merchandise Mart is a world’s biggest commercial building, hosting showrooms, boutiques and exhibitions of most famous design brands in the world. Having a showroom there means becoming part of leading companies and brands, becoming one of those dictating design trends for the whole world! And this is a big day for us!”

Showrooms and boutiques occupy 50% of the building, and the Sultan of Brunei is said had spent $1.6 million at the Mart to furnish his palace, explaining the Mart was the only place where the task could be done in a week. Some showrooms are open only to wholesalers, and others are accessible to the general public. There are no traditional stores with simple shelf and rack displays, but entire furnished rooms are created, providing consumers a possibility to compare products, designs, services among applications and manufacturers. Many of the stores offer products for purchase singly or as a collection, while others offer design services, preservation, renovation, or installation.

“LinenMe has a mission of presenting our high end linen textile with lots of hand work to wider publics.” – says Inga Lukauskiene. “We have a highly valued appreciation from our online shop clients, but we wanted more – to revive interest for linen textile and clothes on the whole, to support the use of natural fabrics in our everyday lives, to show that linen bedroom, bathroom or table items can be trendy, stylish, and easy taken care of. And this is our challenge at Merchandise Mart”.

Best products and designs are displayed in the showroom of LinenMe – huckaback linen towels, table linens, linen bed sets, linen scarves, and linen clothes from the new collection. The showroom is furnished with high quality hand made Lithuanian wooden furniture.

“There was a great interest for our showroom from the very first day,” – says Inga. “Interior designers and architects were the main visitors and they were astonished by the quality of fabric, quality of production of our textile products, and also – they liked designs very much. So, the first step is made, lots of work waiting ahead!”
