January often invites us to look back and make plans for the future. Whether you prefer a list of resolutions or one broad aim, reflecting on the previous year can help clarify what you want to keep and what you hope to change. At LinenMe, we ended 2021 grateful to have come through a difficult year and to have meaningful moments worth celebrating. This was our review of 2021 and what we hoped to carry into 2022.
Highlights from 2021
Throughout that year, our team remained healthy. We were deeply grateful for this and for everyone’s work in preparing orders with only occasional minor delays. Continuing to send our products to customers around the world reflected the commitment and collaborative spirit of our colleagues.
We also spent more time with our families. Amid the difficulties of the pandemic, we came to value quiet days at home, gratitude for the people we love and the importance of making home feel safe and welcoming. These simple ideas helped us manage the challenges of 2021 and were worth carrying forward.
That year we strengthened our commitment to more responsible production and a lower carbon footprint. Linen is naturally a comparatively low-impact fibre, but there is always more to do to reduce waste and energy use. Through LinenUs, useful fabric offcuts that might otherwise be discarded could become storage bags and other practical pieces. Our production process also used renewable energy.
You may also have noticed that we did not promote large Black Friday campaigns or mass sales. We did not want to encourage unnecessary consumption. Our aim was—and remains—to create beautiful, durable products from quality European linen and to encourage customers to buy only what they need and can enjoy for years.
LinenMe in magazines and interior projects
During 2021, LinenMe products appeared in editorial selections and styling projects for several recognised publications:
- Red and white striped Jazz napkins appeared in a dinner-table setting styled by Selina Lake for Country Living.
- Selina also selected a brown Bella baby-alpaca throw for a cosy winter room featured by Country Living.
- For Ideal Home, Sarita Sharma used Balsam Green Lara napkins in a simple Christmas table setting.
- In another interior, Sarita paired Sea Foam Terra curtains with coordinating Terra Fringe cushion covers to create a light spring living room.
- Claudia Bryant used Dusty Rose linen bedding in the “Vibrant Abstracts” bedroom for Homes & Gardens UK.
- Ali Brown chose Balsam Green stonewashed linen bedding for another bedroom with a dramatic yet calm atmosphere.
These appearances demonstrated how linen could work across festive tables, restful bedrooms and relaxed living spaces without losing its natural character.
What we hoped for in 2022
We hoped our home textiles would continue appearing in magazines and interior projects, but our priority remained helping customers find well-made linen clothing and textiles for their homes and wardrobes.
In 2022, we planned to keep focusing on sustainability, home and family. Wool throws supported quiet evenings on the sofa; linen aprons and tea towels accompanied cooking together; and stonewashed table linen made shared meals feel like small celebrations.
Thank you for the support we received in 2021, for choosing our products and for giving them a place in your homes. Most of all, thank you for supporting durable textiles and more responsible choices.
At the time, we wished everyone a happy and healthy 2022. Today, this article remains a record of what we learned and of the values that continue to guide LinenMe.
