At LinenMe, our philosophy is to create beautiful, long-lasting linen textiles for the home while keeping our impact on the planet as low as possible. We reuse offcuts left from cutting larger pieces of fabric, reduce waste and combine skilled craftsmanship with modern production methods to make better use of every resource.
Here is how our responsible production approach works and what we do to keep textiles in circulation for longer.
Working towards zero waste

With vast quantities of fabric and clothing ending up in landfill, we believe we have a responsibility to reduce waste wherever possible. Our goal is to move towards waste-free production. One way we do this is through LinenUs, a collection that transforms linen offcuts into useful new products.
Some offcuts come from the cutting of larger fabric pieces used for other products. Others become available after a customer changes an order. This means the colours and patterns in LinenUs vary according to the material we have at the time. The level of care does not change: every item is made with the same skill and attention as our other collections.
What products can you find?
Our zero-waste collection turns useful remnants into practical home accessories. Depending on the fabrics available, the range may include:
- linen napkins;
- linen tote bags and shopping bags;
- handwoven linen placemats;
- linen tea towels;
- bread baskets.

Do you enjoy a surprise?
Another of our zero-waste initiatives is the Surprise product. These pieces are selected from the types of accessories above and made from whichever fabric is available, so the colour or pattern remains a surprise until it arrives. It might be a striped bread basket, a linen bag or a placemat in a soft pastel shade. Whatever the result, it is made with the same care and attention to detail as every LinenMe textile.
Why textile waste deserves serious attention

Recent estimates have repeatedly shown that enormous volumes of clothing are discarded every year. Synthetic textiles may take a very long time to break down, while dyes and chemical finishes can affect the surrounding environment. Keeping textiles in use and buying fewer, better-made products are practical ways to reduce this impact.
Textile waste is not limited to the garments we see in landfill. Clothing that remains unworn and forgotten in a wardrobe also represents unused materials, labour and energy. Fast fashion encourages constant replacement and the rejection of perfectly usable garments simply because they no longer match a short-lived trend.
Recycling textiles is worthwhile, but not everything placed in a recycling stream is successfully reused. Donating, exchanging or selling items in good condition can extend their useful life. Choosing quality products from the beginning also makes repair, reuse and passing them on to somebody else more realistic.
Join the effort to reduce waste
At LinenMe, we design high-quality products to last, with a timeless style that can be enjoyed for many years. When you choose an item you genuinely value, care for it and use it regularly, you help keep it away from landfill and reduce the need for frequent replacement.
