With Valentine's Day around the corner we thought we'd put together an edit of beautiful Valentine's gift guide for him and her. All of the products chime with our beliefs in sustainability, great quality and a pared-back aesthetic.

And if you don't have someone to buy for, why not just treat yourself? We say, do what you can to brighten up these grey February days, and if that means buying yourself something special then just do it!

For him

Valentine's gift fo him

1.Gorilla Baby cable organiser. Made with recycled materials and packaging, this will keep his desk looking tidy.

2.Poems That Make Grown Men Cry by Anthony and Ben Holden.  A beautiful book in which 100 men bare all about the poems that move them most.

3.For Rest print. Stunning and soulful, this photographic print would look great above his bed.

4.Alpaca socks. Oh these socks! They make your feet feel cosy, warm and downright happy.

4.Waffle linen towel. Great for toting to the gym, beach or just to brighten up his bathroom. Lightweight, highly absorbent and super soft.

5.Felt gadget sleeves. Handmade non-bulky, stylish sleeves for iPads, iPhones and MacBooks, to make sure his gadgets don't get damaged.

6.Glass re-usable coffee cup. Avoid adding to the huge numbers of disposable cups discarded each year by getting him one of these chunky, funky glass numbers.

For her

Valentine's gift fo her

1.Raw silk dress. Ok, this is a bit of a splurge item, but this is one of those effortless dresses that she will wear forever. Made according to strict ethical principles by the fabulous Elizabeth Suzann design studio.

2.Times and Places candle. The team at Illumens have come up with the genius idea of capturing not just scents but memories. Their Times and Places range includes Horses Neck - a mixture of leather, hay and sadle soap that will transport any horse-lover back to their childhood years running free with ponies.

3. Gold hoop earrings. Simple, stylish and the perfect way to brighten up a work outfit, or to team with a sparkly top for a night out.

4.Linen scarf. This gift will remind her that summer is just around the corner. Made from sustainable, breathable, lightweight linen, this scarf will become an indispensable wardrobe staple.

5.Red lipstick. A classic red lipstick helps finish off any outfit. If you don't have time to think about what you are wearing, you can throw pretty much anything on and with a quick swish of this red beauty you will feel polished and set for anything. Keep one in your handbag for all eventualities.

6.Hope in the Dark by Rebecca Solnit. Recent world events may have left us feeling gloomy and despondent. This book is the perfect antidote: intelligent, thoughtful and affirmative, this book will help her feel more hopeful about times ahead.

However you are planning to spend it, we hope Valentine's Day brings some love to you all. And if you hate the whole thing and would rather hide under the bedcovers for the whole day, why not catch up on some of our older posts?
